Something doesn't seem right with Eli's EPA...is it really possible that he has +21.6 EPA when he threw three picks for a total of -15.4 EPA?

If we were going to do that I'd just give him the difference in WPA/EPA for a tackle at the 1 and a TD, but that would only work for that specific play.

Call it "tackler loneliness." Also, I realize it would require god-awful amounts of video and analysis. But, could be done.

Surely there is a hard way to do that at least roughly, though: distance to the next defensive player, skewed by the vector of said player. (A next available tackler 15 yards downfield of the ballcarrier is better positioned, possibly, than one 3 yards behind.) It would be like a in-play Leverage Index for tackles.

Wish there was an easy way to give Murray credit for making that TD saving tackle 90+ yards downfield.
